Getting ready for some paintball action.

The helmets after - all covered in paint.

Sleeping in the cabin is sooo posh...no more cold Klondike camps when you're a teacher.
All ready to take on the days activities: Four Wheelers, Paintball guns, Sleds, & Shotgun shooting.

Carls Jr. Hamburgers on the way home. A guys favorite place.

Tragedy + Time = Humor

{Because sufficent amount of time has passed, I can actually write about this.}

Then:
A little over a year ago Madi was in the 3rd grade play - SCROOGE. She performed it 3 times before Christmas break. I was watching her last performance which was for the other grades during school.
The play was about halfway over when a little 3rd grade girl sitting by Madi came over and whispered to me that Madi had thrown up. I carefully walked up to the side of the stage and removed her from the gym. I was grateful for dim lights and spotlights being on other children. Thank goodness, Madi was sitting on the side of the bleachers guarded by the piano. Luckily, she had a dress on that filled the role of a bag capturing all that came it's way. Okay, a little too much info but, Madi was completely mortified. I tried to remain calm and discrete.

Today:
While driving the girls to school this morning they were commenting on the different school plays going on right now. This was the conversation:

Sara: Did you see the 5th grade play yesterday?

Madi: Yes, we watched it and Paris and I thought it was boring.

Me: What's it about?

Madi: All the states...but they just sing songs.

Me: Oh, I remember Alli doing that play when she was in 5th grade.

Madi: Well, at least in Scrooge you actually DO something.

Sara: Yea, LIKE throw up!

We all starting laughing...Madi included.
Again, Tragedy + Time = Humor

St George Sunshine

We just got home from one of our favorite get-a-ways, especially during this time of the year. I crave the warmer weather and the sun! We went for walks everyday and just loved being outside.
The girls hangin' out in robes and slippers just before eating breakfast on the deck.
Enjoying time together with Grandma visiting and looking at pictures.
We spent early Saturday morning with our older kids at the temple. What a beautiful temple! What a beautiful day!!
Just before going inside...
Our trip just wouldn't be complete without a visit to Nielsen's Frozen Custard. Such creamy GOOD Concretes!
My wonderful parents on Valentine's Day.In between shopping...soaking up every last bit of rays...moments before leaving to drive back to the cold.
It was really hard to want to come home.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

My 1st attempt at tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries. They were far from perfect but, they still tasted good.

Family Home Evening - Making packages for the 8 missionaries and servicemen from our ward.
And a little extra package for an extra special missionary who just left for the MTC this week.
One of the big highlights of Valentines is decorating
"the BOX" you take to school to collect your valentines in.

Look at the Green!!

Now that it has been winter for a few months (it seems like six) I really long for summertime and barbeques with friends. My good friend Kaley took this picture last summer and I borrowed it from her blog. Our families had such a great time together at the Bailey's backyard retreat.

gUitAr - - -

Sara's perspective of her Dad sitting on the couch playing his guitar.
Derek started taking lessons last month and this is a common position he's found in. Sara loves singing along while he plays.

Nice artwork Sara Boo.

Barkertime

Who are these cute girls and Whatz up with the crazy hairdos? They said they did their hair like this so that they could get ice cream sandwiches. Where did they come from?
The girlies played dress-up, hair-dos, and re-dos. All night long they never stopped and kept amazing us with the different hair creations they came up with.
Rick made homemade ice cream sandwiches - YUM YUM!! I must get this recipe.
The guys played the new XBox 360. Thanks Barkers for a fun night.

100 days of school so far...

January 28th is to celebrate the 100th day of School. Sara holds the 100 skittles in a bag she will share with her class.
Afterschool...her bag is filled with a mixture of all the other 100 things all the other kids shared with her.
