Saturday Running and Baby Watching

Derek and Madi went to the Utah Fair Grounds to participate in the AGnar Run that Kayli was in charge of!
Of course you have to have the best farm equipment there to sponsor the Dairy Run and of course Derek has to get a picture with the John Deere.
Cute Madi....she ran the whole way alongside of her Dad and they both had a great time together. Cow bell medals for all the finishers!
Later that night the girls helped me take care of little Henry. Both of his Grandmas being gone during the same weekend ended up to benefit us. We all loved having a baby around!

Sunday Dinner with the Provo Crew

We had a great time catching up on all the things our extended family is doing while living in Utah Valley. Jake brought Benjamin up for dinner and some of the Mills family met here too. It was just so good to be together.
...next a little dessert and a youtube video
Here we are watching some old time movies that Jenna, Alli, Jake and Harrison made when they were kids (7 years ago). You should have heard the comments and laughter happening..."The Babysitter" was one of the highlights of the evening.
Kayli gets comfortable lounging across her sisters. What are sisters for anyways? We also loved having Alli around this weekend too. We haven't seen her for 3 1/2 weeks...

The Ninth Temple

Madi is getting so close to the finish line for this YW project. We met Jake here this morning and between the three of us we completed 19 family names for baptisms. It was a great day and one that you dream about as a mother. It was so neat to be in the temple with Jake and see him help with the different ordinances.
It's fitting that this would be the 9th different temple Madi has gone to and it's just off 9th East, 9 blocks from Jake's apartment in Provo.
Afterwards, Jake headed to class. Madi and I went to BYU to get her new ID card. She needs it to check out books this year for her American Studies class.
Then to the Library we went and searched through the books until we found the section of the Pueblo Revolt of 1696.
She found four books that will work for her report and we were on our way.

Edible Volcano

Science classes have taken on a new twist since I was a kid...Sara's project was to make an edible volcano that she could present today and then share with her class.

Here is a cinder cone volcano made out of 12 cups of rice crispies, 1 cube of butter and 22 ounces of marshmallows. Sara packed it down tight and it looked great!
Luscious Lava Models presented by Sara and Bri....It's going to be a very yummy day in science today!

My Parents Moved Back!

With a van packed to 100% capacity and a small trailer too, my parents made their way to their new home in Highland. Everyone helped to unload all the stuff into their garage and new home.
A fun pizza lunch for all the helpers on Saturday. These girls got up bright and early to help move boxes and welcome Grandma and Grandpa here...
A few nights later we went up to enjoy the new pool. It will be so fun having them living closer now.

Portfolio Designer

This girl can create and she is an amazing artist.
Her cover for her portfolio envelope is inspiring and colorful. I can't wait to see all the art projects it will contain this year.

Two Days at The Utah State Fair

I never thought I would ever see a cow made out of butter before. One thousand (1000) pounds of pure butter.
We had to take a picture with the Butter Cow. Kayli was the deliverer of all this butter earlier this week so that the two sculptors could create this masterpiece. Afterwards, we went to see a really fun Rodeo with Chris and Derek. Such great weather to be outside enjoying this warm evening.

Madi and I took advantage of Kayli's free tickets to the fair and enjoyed the ice cream festival on Monday afternoon as well. BYU Creamery was there, Aggie Ice Cream, Creamies Reps, Fat Boy Ice Cream, Red Button Vintage Ice Cream, and Blue Bunny too. It's all you can eat and there is more ice cream than you can possibly try at one sitting. We had so much fun being there and I found a new favorite ice cream that I'll have to drive to Provo for....YUMMY!
Kayli's job is really full of fun activities, lots of promotion and great public relations. She is loved by all her coworkers and she is really enjoying her work.
At 4:00 we went to the Circus. Haha...We laughed about how we were given free tickets to be there as well. This day was so much fun and hardly cost us anything to be here.

Beautiful Bear Lake for Labor Day Weekend

Jake was the first one out on the cold lake today.
He was excited to surf it up!

On the other side of the wave, Chris rode and likes the new surfboard best!
Just a boy and his mom...
ZIPZ to top off the first night!
Saturday brought tons of cold wind. There were white caps on the lake so we decided to play lots of games on the grass.
Then it was off to miniature golf land - 18 holes!
Chris decided to get a little creative with this shot...
Looks like he's playing pool.
He's still got it. I have a picture somewhere of Derek doing this when he was a teenager.
The winds calmed down during the evening hours so we ventured out on the lake then.
I wore my BYU shirt today in hopes that BYU would win their first game... and it worked. They had an amazing play in the last few seconds of the game to win Nebraska.
Dinner that night was the biggest pizza Sara had ever seen before!
Church at the Garden City ward was memorable. I've never attended a fast and testimony meeting with over 1500 people.
Some of us went on an adventure to Bloomington Lake in Idaho. So Gorgeous!

Seeing them playing together is one of my favorite things!
A walk down to the beach was the perfect way to end a nice Sunday.
Sara throwing shells high into the air.
Monday was cold, but at least it was sunny and the wind wasn't blowing - YAY!!

Black and White Bathing Beauties!
On the dock - I sure love these kids!

And before the big ride home, we ended up at Zipz again. Chris was loving the fries mixed in with his shake. Good Times!
