Horray for the Last Day of School!

Sara and friends all met at 7:25 this morning to ride their bikes to school for the last day!
Summer is officially here! Hip Hip Horray!!
...and they're off !

Jake Awards

 These kids scored big at the Utah High School Film Festival last month. Especially with the 48 hour video they shot and edited in record time. Multiple awards all around!
These awards represent some of the video projects Jake was involved in. "The File" took first place out of all the film entries in the state. WooHoo! Funny though..."Butters Theme" won honorable mention and Everett's name just so happened be printed on the award. So glad we know an Everett, even though we're not sure how he managed to place at the young age of 4.
"Knight of Recognition" evening by invitation only.
Here Jake stands with Spencer Bailey accepting the Principal Award for the year.  Congratulations, Jake! You have spent many willing hours this year in service to your school.

Cast Off!

First trip out on the lake and Jake doesn't let having a cast stand in his way.  In fact, he ripped up the water wakeboarding too.  Thankfully, we paid the extra money for a waterproof cast; he definitely has made it worthwhile.
Waiting to get the cast taken off -
Perfect timing...a cast free arm for Graduation tomorrow!

HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY to a WONDERFUL DAD!

We all gathered at the park to celebrate Dad/Grandpa Doug's Birthday this weekend. My Dad has always been and will always be surrounded by girls. This is still only about 1/2 of the grandchildren that were able to make it.
Dishing up dinner with these fine people - yummy salads, fruit, meiers chicken and birthday cake!

Dave and Derek enjoying some great conversation...
Lynda, Milo, The Birthday Boy and Karen
Cutest Faces and Cutest little hands creating magical holes in the plastic tablecloth... a great activity!
Haylee, Sara, Lili, Madi and Britney enjoy visiting on the nice field of grass! Summer at it's best!
 A new pose for Madi - amazing form - feeling more like summer all the time...
One more candid picture: I had to document that Jensen was here representing the male grandchildren of the family. Jake was on a pre-graduation trip with 20 friends this weekend.

Memorial Day Hike and Flowers for Grandma

An early morning hike up to Battlecreek Falls. Many people were here too, but we were able to sneak a picture before a big family reunion group showed up right behind us.
Mom and I visited the graves of her sister Joyce and her parents (my Grandparents)
This is the replacement marker for all the babies my Grandma lost.  How hard would it be to lose three sweet babies in just four years?!
This photo is so that I remember where their graves are located. What I didn't realize while I took the picture is that the Timpanogos Temple is right in the background.

End-of-the-year Dance Festival

The day was perfect: sunshine...no wind and 70 degrees!  Just the week before, these girls made their cute denim skirts out of an old pair of jeans.  The fray on the bottom helped to add to the look.
 Sara - Jensen - Bri
We are ready to watch - Derek is on his way and we lucked out to have both sets of Grandparents here.
Just as the music to "Footloose" starts, 100+ 5th graders run out on the field...
"Now I gotta cut loose, footloose...kick off the Sunday shoes..."
 The awkward part of 5th grade - - - dancing with a boy. I could tell Sara was trying so hard not to smile during this part, but she loves dancing so much it shows in her face.
 The Finale - High energy - Happy faces cover the field!
 Grandma hugs for our cute girl!
Double Grandma hugs and Congratulations from Grandpa.
 This girl can't help but know how much she is LOVED!

A Very Exciting Night!

Great News...Jensen got his mission call today.  He has been so patient and was so excited when he finally opened the envelope!
Congratulations, Jensen you will be serving in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission!
Two cousins - born three months apart - leaving for their missions three weeks apart...
Grandpa and Grandma with their two future missionaries!
South Africa and Russia will never be the same again!

Jake's Seminary Graduation

Seminary Graduation was last Sunday night.  I'm so proud of all these kids.  A top record ever of seminary graduates from our stake - 134! These Seniors will definitely go on to do more great things in life!
{Alli, Jake, Lexi, Gray, Keaton}
{Grandpa Sherm, Grandma Judith, Jake, Me and Derek}
One of the finest boys I know...and I'm not saying that just because I'm his mother.
Okay, so I need to grow a little taller to keep up with these tall men of mine. Either that or wear really really really high heels!
 Sliding the official diploma into the cover...
{Jake, Natalie, Jesica, Lexi, Keaton, Gray}
Acting a little irreverent
The Three Musketeers
{Lexi, Jake, Paige, Aaren, Erin, Keaton, Kiley}

Talent Show - 5th Grade

An accidental picture that clicked just at the perfect time. I love those freckles and those brown eyes!
Sara and her friends choreographed this dance for the talent show all by themselves.
 Waiting for their turn as their teacher Mrs. Park draws who will get to go next...found these cute shirts for $5 at the store yesterday...Sara, Jensen and Bri made their own ribbon bows for their hair.
Dancing in front of their peers, teacher and a few parents - these girls were energized and we all felt it!

Sara's solo part...managing standing splits.
Darling Friends and Awesome Performers!
Way to go! Congratulations on making it to the next round...
