Dancing through a Saturday

The girls did fantastic at the Celebrity Competition last Saturday.  It's always magical to dance at Kingsbury Hall and have your own dressing room underneath the stage.

After being here for almost 12 hours...it's time to go home. You couldn't tell from this picture that it's 11:20pm. These girls don't look one bit tired, but the lady behind the camera is! Good job girlies - gold medals and all!

Kayli graduates from BYU!

We are very proud parents this past weekend...our brilliantly beautiful daughter just graduated from BYU.  She has filled her role as a wife to Chris for the past 20+ months, has been a valiant student in all her classes, worked 30 hours a week and maintained good grades all at the same time. We love her and are so excited to see her dreams of working in the dietetics field come true.  She received 1 of 8 BYU dietetic internships starting this fall.  Way to go, Kayli...you have the determination to succeed and work hard so your dreams are accomplished.
We Love YOU!
The two days of celebration can't really compare with all the many hours of time and dedication she has given to her education. However, we just enjoyed being with her and honoring her.
At noon on Thursday we went to a dietetic program and reception in the Eyring Science Center.
Each graduate was introduced and congratulated individually. Yay, Kayli!

Afterwards, we all went and ate dinner at the Wild Zucchini Grille...Yummy!
The convocation was also held at the Marriott Center early Friday morning.
Here she comes...
Such a happy moment!
A very proud dad gets a hug as she walks through.
One more big pose for the camera.
I can't believe my daughter is a college graduate!
Kayli showing everyone the sample certificate. The real one will be mailed in a few weeks.
True love and a Diploma. It doesn't get any better than this...

CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Then it was off to Menchies to celebrate with yogurt and toppings!

End of the Year Swim Team Banquet

Kirsten, Alli and Jordan setting up for the swim team banquet.  Our girl has shined this year as one of the swim team captains.
All the swimmers who lettered by swimming in region and state. They had a very successful year.
Varsity Letter Award #2 - Woohoo!
These are the graduating seniors with their classy award plaques - CONGRATS!
Jordan, Alli, Seth and Kevin - The Swim Team Captains 2013-2014

One of the purposes of the awards banquet is to also announce the new swim captains for next year.  Since the swim team is getting so large, Coach Melville decided to have six.
After the swimmers were presented and given their awards, the captains had a few gifts for the coaches.  Alli hides a big surprise that will be given after the real sincere gifts are admired.
When they saw the surprise, the expressions on their faces were priceless.  Alli got this picture from her Aunt Heather at a white elephant exchange during Christmas.  She knew how funny it would be to pass it on to her coaches.  She taped on new faces that represented theirs on the scary speedo-bodied men.
Coach Melville is pretty amused with it, but finds it more appropriate to give to the lady coaches! This is a gift that keeps on giving and the humor of it we have enjoyed many times. I wonder where it will end up next?

Easter Sunday 2014

Good Afternoon! The girls slept in today so they had to wait until after church to find their baskets. The Easter bunny hid them in some tricky places this year.
Alli is attending a farewell at a different ward, so hopefully she'll find hers when she gets home...
Before dinner everyone took turns coloring eggs.
Brightly colored and two minons
Derek is always outnumbered by girls, but today seemed overwhelmingly so. We are missing Jake, Jensen and Chris had to work. With all these women, there is never a dull moment with conversation.
Kayli and Tina helped me hide all the eggs for the Easter egg hunt...
...then the girls ran all over the yard to find them. We added some confetti eggs this year just for fun.  The girls looked great with confetti decorations in their hair. :)
You never get too old for finding Easter eggs. The best part is seeing what's inside!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
