Happy Day...

It's a HAPPY DAY for me when I see...

these two hanging out together - just the two of them...and even better than that, they are even learning a song they can play together.
It was also Happy Day at Lone Peak today. Jake was in charge of helping the student body to be aware of happy days and what makes and brings happiness to others. Everyone was encouraged to wear YELLOW... Do we each bring enough positive thoughts into our day to make it happy?

Sunday in St George

We had such a great weekend down here. Thanks Mom for a fabulous dinner and all the fun games.
Such a treat to help Grandma make chocolate donuts!
Now we know the secret...we'll have to try this at our house.

Giant Water Balloon Fun!

My kids have done this before, but not quite to this extreme.
First they fill up many balloons in the hot tub.
About 15-20 balloons today...some popped from being filled too much.
Thinking they would get tired of the regular balloons, Derek waited to bring out the massive balloon. It's a good thing Jake was around to help fill this one up. The question was... how will he ever lift it out of the water? It was so heavy...
The girls come to help...but can they do it?
Next, the biggest kid of our family comes to the rescue...he has a great idea of lifting it out with a chair... shhh - don't tell Grandpa about this part.
Then into the swimming pool with a huge splash!
Madi figures out how to use it as a giant float. We can't believe it will really float..
Must be the extra air Jake got inside...
Great times in the St George pool once again!

Sidewalk Art Girls

After driving down to St. George, the girls discovered a bucket of chalk in Grandma's garage.  Then, they both went right to work.  Look at this beautiful creativity! Now we just hope it doesn't rain!
We are all grateful to see the real SUN!

Sledding!

The day could not be better.  The weather was ideal - clean clear air...even BLUE SKIES! We loved sledding for 3 hours up at the Kapps Cabin in Timberlake! Really, this takes the cake for the most amazing sledding.  Everyone hangs on to ski ropes as the four wheelers pull them up hill.
Then you enjoy the ride all the way down past the cabin and on down to the bottom of the hill.  The groomed roads made you speed even faster - we had to put our hands out to slow us down.
My long-time friend Kim Kapp ...We have lived
in 3 different states together!
Kevin adds another 4-wheeler to the fun!
Sierra and Alli enjoying the wonderful sun! YAY!
I don't know how many people could say they have been chased by a dog while sledding. I HAVE! As I was making my third run down the hill, a great big German Shepherd came running after me.  I probably looked like some kind of FUN TOY to him. I was completely terrified!  Sitting on the ground on an uncontrolled sled, I was very vunerable! And the dog looked 5x's bigger than normal. Luckily, he turned out to be friendly and I kept my sled from crashing out of panic.
Taylor and Madi
Back inside the cabin to warm up by the fire - hot chocolate on the stove!
Derek charming the crowd with a little "Blackbird"
The cabin in the middle of the woods - such a peaceful beautiful place!

VALENTINES

Jake probably won for making the "BIGGEST" Valentine this year...
What a fun day I had spending my Valentine's afternoon with Sara at her class party.  I love helping and realize this will all end way too soon.
My friend Lisa and I were in charge of the food station. We decided it would be fun for them to make fruit pizza cookies. We also had a veggie tray and crackers/dip there for a healthy choice.  It's great to see how many kids actually go for the veggies when it looks this good and the dip is served in heart cups.
One of the stations was a 'Photo Booth'.  A real hit of the party! Each group got a 15 minute photo shoot and they all enjoyed every minute of dressing up and posing for the camera.
More photo booth shots:

Another station was to deliver their valentines...some of these boxes were very creative!
Time for a little valentine BINGO...
Then the best part is to get home, unload your box and go through all the valentines from 30+ friends.
Happy Valentine's Day!
